70 km from the French border, Estartit is a pleasant tourist spot on the coast. It has a superb, long sandy beach, ideal, and particularly safe for children. Water sports activities, notably deep-sea diving around the Medes islands: marine reserve particularly noted for its flora and fauna. Estartit is also an ideal base for exploring Catalogna, from Cadaqués to Barcelona.  The residence Festamar consists of a 3-storey building situated in a quiet area, which is however lively during the summer period of July and August.  It has a games-room and a bar-restaurant and is just 150m from the main beach.
