Barbados

Barbados is a member of the Eastern Caribbean Windward islands but is set apart in The Atlantic Ocean from it's nearest neighbours such as St Lucia & St Vincent.   The exposed east coast with it's constant pounding from Atlantic rollers is often likened to Cornwall, England and is frequented by surfers. In contrast the sheltered west or platinum coast facing The Caribbean Sea is the archetypical seaside paradise of sugar sand, calm bathing waters and rum punch.  The Island is 25 miles at it's longest and maximum 15 miles wide in the south reducing to 6 miles in the north. The Capital Bridgetown is situated at the southern tip of the west coast.  The transfer from Grantley Adams International Airport in the south to our hotel  Little Good Harbour in St Lucy on the west coast takes approximately 40 minutes.
