Hofn
Hofn the principal port town in eastern Iceland sits beneath Vatnajokull Europes biggest Icecap. It is a pretty town with access to numerous amenities. The main attraction has to be the Vatnajokull Icecap. There are many routes up onto the Vatnajokull Icecap:the easiest is up the road on the broad glacier spur, Skalafellsjokull. This excursion is a real polar style expedition. There are many 4 wheel drive tours commencing from the town of Hofn up to the glaciers. Hofn remain a thriving fishing town.
